FCI CONDUCTS TRAINING WITH FOREST COMMUNITY IN KPARBLEE, NIMBA COUNTY
The Foundation for Community Initiatives (FCI) with funding from the Land Governance Support Activity (LGSA – USAID) hosted two weeks of training from September 18th to October 4th 2019 with the Kparblee Authorized Community Forest in Kparblee Administrative District in Nimba County.
The training brought together members of sixteen (16) affected communities (160 participants) which included Community Assembly (CA) members, Executive Committee (EC) members, Community Forest Management Body (CFMB) members, local leaders (Commissioner, Paramount chiefs, Clan Chiefs and Town Chiefs) and community dwellers.
The training focused on Commercial Use Contract (CUC), Negotiation and renegotiation of contracts, and the Community Rights Law with Respect to Forest Land of 2009 and it Regulation of 2017. FCI is implementing a project title “Support to Community Forest Communities in Nimba” with the people of Kparblee and will run up to February 2020.
