FCI Launches new project titled “Advancing Implementation of UNSCR 1325 on Women Peace and Security (WPS) through strengthening Accountability Framework, Innovative Financing and Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB)”
The Foundation for Community Initiatives (FCI) in collaboration with the Community Health Education and Social Services (CHESS-Liberia) and the Liberia Initiative for Empowerment (LIFE) with funding from UN Women, on May 4th and 7th, 2021 launched the project title “Advancing Implementation of UNSCR 1325 on Women Peace and Security (WPS) through strengthening Accountability Framework, Innovative Financing and Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB)” in Buchanna City, Grand Bassa and in Sanniquellie, Nimba Counties respectively.
The project seeks to achieve two major outputs namely:
Government actors and women organizations have strengthened capacity on innovative financing and Gender Responsive budgeting, to ensure increased allocation of financial resources for the implementation of the National action Plan on women peace and security.
Women organizations have strengthened capacities to implement, monitor, report and promote evidence based advocacy to ensure implementation of the National action plan on Women peace and Security.
The launch brought together stakeholders from various sectors including the County Superintendent, Gender Coordinator, Liberia National Police (LNP) Commander, Women and Children Protection Section of the LNP Commander, Head of the County Traditional Council, Peace Hut Leadership, women and youth leaders among others…
The project which will last from March to November will target Civil Servants, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), women, men and youths and conduct training and awareness on the National Action Plan on Women Peace and Security and Gender Responsive Budgeting.
We look forward to a smooth coordination between the partners, communities and other stakeholders for the successful implementation of the project.
