FCI Conducts Training for Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), Farmer-Based Organizations (FBOs), Informal Enterprises (IEs), and Local Groups (LGs)—to profile, co-create, and prepare them to access life-changing economic support and livelihood grants.

Economic independence isn't just about income, it is about agency, power, and the ability for women to build resilient futures for their families and communities

When women-led enterprises are equipped with the right tools and financial backing, entire local economies transform. Seeing grassroots entrepreneurs across Grand Gedeh step up to shape their own financial growth is a powerful reminder of what is possible when targeted investment meets community potential.

This month, from October 8 to 29, the Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP), an initiative supported by the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) with funding from the World Bank, is rolling out the Grant Pre-Award Training for Women-Led Enterprises across six districts in Grand Gedeh County: B’hai, Gbao, Cavalla, Tchien, Putu, and Konobo.

This core training brings together key beneficiary groups—including Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs), Farmer-Based Organizations (FBOs), Informal Enterprises (IEs), and Local Groups (LGs)—to profile, co-create, and prepare them to access life-changing economic support and livelihood grants.
Financial inclusion cannot remain just a goal on paper, it must reach the women doing the daily work on the ground. By pairing direct grant funding with practical capacity building, we are breaking structural barriers to capital and ensuring women-led businesses don’t just survive, but thrive. The time to invest directly in women’s economic power is now!
Join us in celebrating these incredible women entrepreneurs as they take the lead in driving sustainable economic growth across Grand Gedeh!
